Jaipur: An ACB court in Sriganganagar has summoned a woman IPS officer with arrest warrant for failing to appear before it for recording her statement in a corruption case. The case relates to a trap in which an ASI was arrested for allegedly taking bribe of Rs 31,00 by the ACB . The IPS Vinita Thakur is being summoned the special ACB court to record her statement in the case since 2012, but she allegedly ignored them, a lawyer said.

A lawyer said said that ACB had trapped ASI Jagroop Singh after he was caught taking a bribe.

The ASI was demanding bribe from a man for not making him an accused in an FIR. The trap was laid in November, 2006, he said. The ACB made the ASI’s son Rajvindra Singh co-accused since he had accepted the bribe on behalf of his father.

ACB sought prosecution sanction against ISP Vinita Thakur who was posted as SP, Sriganganagar at that time.

After a chargesheet was filed against the accused, the court framed charges and summoned Thakur who had given prosecution sanction to register her statement.

She was summoned several times over the past five years, but she didn’t show up in the court. The special ACB court has now summoned her with arrest warrant.
