Rajasthan budget 2020-21 to be tabled in assembly on Feb 20

Jaipur: The Rajasthan government will present the state budget 2020-21 in the assembly on February 20. After getting a go-ahead from governor Kalraj Mishra, the finance department has made all the necessary preparations. Since chief minister Ashok Gehlot himself holds the finance portfolio, he will present the budget. Sources said that the focus will be on health, education and investment. The budget session will continue till March 11.

Chief minister Ashok Gehlot recently several meetings with the representatives of the business community in the state and various social organizations in the recent months.

A senior official said that the focus will be on making the budget people and investment friendly.

“The chief minister has himself collected feedback from the business communities and social organizations. Several of the suggestions are being incorporated in the budget,” said the officer.

It is believed that many of the announcements will be aimed at meeting the promises made in the election manifesto before the Congress came to power.

The budget 2019-20 focussed on farmers, youth and women. About a dozen new public welfare schemes were announced. The government promised to create 75,000 jobs.
