Rajasthan ATS arrests 3 more men for obtaining arms licenses from J&K

Rajasthan ATS busted a gang of arms suppliers.

Japur: In connection with the acquisition of arms license from Jammu and Kashmir on the basis of fraudulent documents, the Rajasthan ATS has arrested three more businessmen, including a marble trader. Ajmer’s property dealer Sanwarlal Gujjar, a travel agency operator named Abdul Salam Khan of Udaipur and Rajsamand’s marble businessman Aslam Mohammad Shilawat were arrested.

The bail application for the accused has been rejected and The ATS is interrogating them to gather more details about the gang. Initial investigations revealed that the men had obtained the licenses from a gang run by one Muhammad Zubair who has already been arersted. The accused paid him Rs 2-3 lakhs for obtaining the licenses.

ATS SP Vikas Kumar said that Sanwarlal, Abdul, and Aslam had been served notices and summoned for interrogation. So far 25 people having links with the gang who have made illegal arms licenses have also been arrested and most of them are businessmen. Last month, ATS had arrested 12 people from different parts of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir.

During the investigation, a case of two businessmen from Sirohi had also come to light. This was in connection with obtaining fake licenses from the gang, the accused however obtained anticipatory bails from the High Court.
