Rajasthan assembly elections 2018 dates announced: Voting on December 7

With the announcement of the dates, the model code of conduct has come into force. The political parties will not be allowed to organize rallies.

Jaipur: The Election Commission (EC) on Saturday announced the dates for Rajasthan assembly elections 2018. The polling will be held in Rajasthan and three other states simultaneously. The voting in Rajasthan will take place on December 7. Votes will be counted on December 11.

With the announcement of the dates, the model code of conduct has come into force. The political parties will not be allowed to organize rallies at public places.

The EC said that polling in Rajasthan will take place simultaneously with three other states including Madhya Pradesh, Mizoram and Chhatisgarh. Elections in only Telangana will be held at a later date.

The election process will be completed before December 15.

Rajasthan chief minister Vashundhara Raje concluded her Rajasthan Gaurav Yatra on Saturday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a crowd of nearly 3 lakh BJP supporters in Ajmer.

Modi addressed the crowd in Rajasthani language. He said that he was grateful for people turning up in such a large number to hear him.

Modi said that he used to do campaigning for the party while riding pillion with the current state president Madan Lal Saini.

I am always available for the party as a worker. We governed for five years and are now going to the polls with a clean image, said Modi adding that it shows the government’s dedication to the public service.

On the other hand, All India Congress Committee (AICC) has formed nine election committees for the assembly elections. Former chief minister Ashok Gehlot has been appointed as the head of the coordination committee, while Congress state president Sachin Pilot will head the election committee.
