Jaipur: Dr. Manish Chaudhary, the Additional chief medical and health officer (CMHO) of Bharatpur, was arrested for posing as an MP and allegedly threatening RAS officer Girish Parasar deputed as an additional director in Rajasthan Health Directorate over phone.
Parashar had taken over the post of additional director replacing a doctor recently. ARISDA (All Rajasthan In-service Doctors Association) had been protesting this decision and members of the association were unhappy with the health department for giving Parashar the post. A three-day deadline given by the association for transferring Parashar will end today.
The situation went from bad to worse when ARISDA alleged that Parashar had misbehaved with a doctor, who was pregnant. This happened on November 23 and four days later Parashar filed a complaint at Jyoti Nagar police station stating that a person called him saying that he is an MP and threatened him with dire consequences. He was provided security at his health directorate office by the police as they had started investigating the matter
The call details of the mobile number from which the RAS officer had received the threatening call were collected by police. The officials managed to nab the person who had called the officer within 8 days time. It took a while for the police as the phone of the caller had remained switched off all the time.
According to the health department, Chaudhary had received a 17 CCA notice about a year ago however he still hasn’t filed any reply to notice. He had registered his address as Queen’s Road, Vaishali Nagar, Jaipur whereas he resided in Bharatpur. His wife Ritu Chaudhary claims that her husband is innocent and that police have abducted him. She stated that police visited Rigved Hospital where she was on a visit and started searching her office. They showed her pictures of a mobile when questioned about the search.
