Rajasthan: ACB arrests excise inspector, assistant agriculture officer for taking bribe

Jaipur: The anti-corruption bureau (ACB) on Monday arrested a circle inspector deputed in excise department in Barmer’s Kushalgarh and an assistant agriculture officer in Tonk’s Ranoli area in two different trap cases.

Both were arrested after they were allegedly caught red-handed taking bribes.

In Kushalgarh, CI Rameshwar Lal Garva was arrested for taking a bribe of Rs 35,00. ACB officials said that he was caught red-handed. He has been booked under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act.

In another trap, Kanhaiya Lal, assistant agriculture officer deputed in Tonk’s Ranoli, was arrested accepting Rs 35,00.

One Badrilal Bairwa had registered a complaint against Kanhaiyalal with the ACB. The complainant alleged that for getting approval for a physical verification of an agriculture connection under Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana.

To approve the file, the officer allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 5,000.

An ACB team verified the complaint when the officer took Rs 1,000, the first installment of the bribe.

A trap was laid on Monday. The complainant went to Kanhaiyalal to hand over the bribe. As soon as the officer accepted the bribe, an ACB team arrested him.
