Jaipur: Four members of an Andhra Pradesh police team including Visakhapatnam crime branch police inspector R.V.R.K. Choudhary were arrested by Rajasthan Anti-corruption bureau (ACB) from a hotel in Jodhpur. The team had allegedly taken bribe from a Jodhpur district resident to remove his name from an FIR registered with PM Palem police station in Visakhapatnam.
Those who were arrested include
- R V R K Choudhary, a police inspector of North sub division, crime in Visakhapatnam district,
- SK Sarif, a sub inspector deputed at Parawada police station in Visakhapatnam.
- Gopal Rao, sub inspector, MR Peta police station, and

Senior ACB officials said that the four members of the police team were staying at Shakti Hotel in Jodhpur and had come specifically to accept bribe from one Ramnniwas Jat, a resident of Bilara in Jodhpur.
Ramniwas had a case under section 395 of IPC registered against him for dacoity with PM Palem police station. The team members were allegedly demanding a bribe of Rs 1,40,000 from Ramniwas to remove his name from the FIR.
Ramniwas registered a complaint against the team members following which an investigation was launched.
The ACB verified the police when Ramniwas gave the accused policemen Rs 40,000 as the first installment of the bribe.
When he gave them Rs 80,000 on Monday, an ACB team recovered the money hidden below a pillow in the accused policemen’s hotel room.
The four were arrested and booked under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
The trap was laid by DySP, ACB Jagdish Soni.
