Two arrested for board daylight firing in Malviya Nagar

Accused Vishal, Gambhir, and Ganesh called him to Malviya Nagar on the pretext of sorting out a gambling dispute among them. When the victim reached there, they shot him in broad daylight and fled the spot.

Jaipur: The city police on Tuesday arrested two men in connection with firing at one Ashok Gupta in Malviya Nagar area recently. The police also seized 12 country-made guns and 30 cartridges from the house of accused Vishal Pandit, who has been absconding since the day the firing incident place. The police, however, arrested accused Vishal’s wife and father in law under the Arms Act.

According to DCP Gaurav Yadav, the victim Ashok Gupta filed an FIR with Jawahar Nagar police on Thursday he was shot at by three assailants near sector 11 of Malviya Nagar in Jaipur. Accused Vishal, Gambhir, and Ganesh called him to Malviya Nagar on the pretext of sorting out a gambling dispute among them. When the victim reached there, they shot him in broad daylight and fled the spot.

The police are still searching for the three accused Vishal, Gambhir and Ganesh. The police presented two arrested men, Rajan Sardar and Lachchhu before a court. Officials said that further investigation is going on.

Rajan Sardar is a resident of Sector 11 in Malviya Nagar and Lachchhu Ahuja lives in sector 2 of the same locality. The incident happened outside Rajan’s house. In fact, Rajan was the one who called victim Ashok Gupta on the spot to discuss the gambling dispute. Rajan’s aide Lachchhu was also present there.

Rajan had close connections with several politicians. Many posters showing Rajan posting with politicians were removed from the accused man’s locality after the firing case.
