Jaipur: The Rajasthan High Court has directed the Additional Director General of Police (Recruitment and Promotion Board) to remain personally present after noting non-compliance with its earlier order directing filing of a specific affidavit in a challenge to the Sub-Inspector recruitment process.

Justice Ashok Kumar Jain passed the order while hearing writ petitions filed by Pratap Meena and Puja Meena, relating to recruitment pursuant to the advertisement dated October 5, 2016 for the posts of Sub-Inspector (AP), Sub-Inspector (IB) and Platoon Commander (RAC).

The court recorded that by an earlier order dated March 14, 2024, the State had been specifically directed to file an affidavit of the Inspector General of Police (Headquarter Recruitment) furnishing details of height and chest measurements of the petitioners and private respondents, along with the Physical Standard Test record.

The order notes that despite the said direction, the required affidavit was not filed. Instead, affidavits were placed on record by the Deputy Inspector General, Recruitment and Promotion Board, along with certificates issued by the then Additional Director General of Police.

On January 19, 2026, the State submitted that the post of Inspector General of Police (Headquarter Recruitment) was vacant. Taking note of this submission, the court directed that an affidavit be filed by the Additional Director General of Police who was in-charge at the relevant time.

The court further recorded that the Additional Director General of Police had issued certificates stating that no private respondent was granted relaxation in physical standards.

Noting that the direction contained in the order dated March 14, 2024 had still not been complied with in the manner directed, the High Court ordered Mr. Sachin Mittal, ADGP (Recruitment and Promotion Board) to remain personally present before the court on January 30, 2026 at 10.30 am.

The court also directed that a copy of the order be forwarded to the Director General of Police, Rajasthan.
