Jaipur: The Rajasthan government has lifted the ban on the transfer of its employees. The administrative reforms department issued the order in this regard on Tuesday night. The transfer and postings will take place from September 15 to October 31. The applications for transfers can be made online only due to the current COVID-19 situation.

The government employees can apply for transfer on the website of their respective department. The employees have been asked not to visit offices of senior officers and ministers for submitting transfer applications. The order said that in-person paper applications will not be entertained at all. The order will be applicable to all government corporations and boards.

The ban on transfers had been imposed in September last year. There was resentment among government employees about this. In the feedback meetings organized by the Pradesh Congress Committee, many MLAs had demanded that the ban be lifted. There are speculations that the decision was taken ahead of the panchayat elections in the state.

The order says that the transfer will happen in compliance with the election model code of conduct.

Thousands of government employees are likely to submit transfer applications online.
