Raj Congress leader’s missing daughter found in Ahmedabad

JAIPUR: Abhilasha, the 21-year-old daughter of Congress leader Gopal Kesawat was traced in Ahemdabad, four days after she went missing from Jaipur. Suspecting that the girl was kidnapped, the police rushed teams to several nearby states. They traced her location in Ahmedabad and found her. She is being brought to Jaipur.
In a preliminary statement, the girl has told the police that she went to Ahmedabad voluntarily; however, the police are verifying it because before being kidnapped, she had called up her father and told him that some youths were following her and requested him to rescue her.
On November 20, Abhilasha Kesawat left home on her scooty. She told the family members that she was going to the NRI Circle to buy vegetables. When she did not return, the family started searching for her. However, she couldn’t be found. Her father registered a kidnapping case with Pratap Nagar police station in Jaipur. The scooter was found parked unclaimed on the airport road the following day.
The father said that Abhilasha called him up soon after leaving home. She seemed scared on the phone and told him that she was being followed. She also urged his father to come and rescue her.
DCP East Karan Sharma said several teams were formed after the girl went missing. The suspects were interrogated. The CCTV footage of the place from where the scooter was recovered was scrutinized. It came up during the investigation that the girl was travelling to Gujarat. The last location was also found there. The team got information about her presence in Ahmedabad at 2 pm on Thursday.
On this, a team already present there was alerted and the location was raided. The team found the girl and is bring her to Jaipur where she will be handed to relatives. The girl’s father staged a protest outside the Jaipur police commissionerate.
