Promotion order of paper leak accused Sher Singh cancelled
Singh, currently incarcerated in Udaipur Jail, was appointed as the principal on May 26.
JAIPUR: The promotion of Vice Principal Sher Singh, who stands accused of leaking a senior teacher recruitment paper, has sparked a heated debate. Singh, currently incarcerated in Udaipur Jail, was appointed as the principal on May 26.
However, the state government swiftly responded by appointing IAS Gaurav Agarwal, the director of the Secondary Education Department in Bikaner, as an Administrative Public Officer (APO) to address the issue. The education department, upon learning about the matter, rescinded Singh’s promotion order, despite it being a holiday on Sunday.
The department clarified that the Departmental Promotion Committee convened a meeting in March. Singh was terminated from service in April. Singh’s name appeared at number 46 on the promotion list released on May 26, despite his dismissal from the Mahatma Gandhi Government School Bhavri in Sirohi. As a result, the assistant director and principal were suspended on Monday evening.
Assistant Director Preeti Jalopia confirmed that there are no pending departmental inquiries against any individual. The responsibility for the promotion process falls under the jurisdiction of Sandeep Jain’s section, while Principal Harish Parmar failed to remove Singh’s name from the website.
This development has raised serious concerns about the selection and promotion procedures within the education department, shedding light on the need for a comprehensive investigation into the matter. The incident has also underscored the importance of maintaining transparency and accountability in the education system.
