Portfolios to be assigned to ministers in Rajasthan today

Chief minister Ashok Gehlot with deputy chief minister Sachin Pilot met several senior leaders in Jaipur on Tuesday to decide on the portfolios. The discussion continued on Wednesday too.

Jaipur: Portfolios are likely to be allotted to newly-appointed cabinet ministers and ministers of state in Rajasthan on Wednesday. The list of portfolios will be submitted to Governor Kalyan Singh by chief minister Ashok Gehlot. An official announcement will probably be made in the evening, sources said.

Twenty-three ministers took oath at Raj Bhavan on Monday after their names were finalized on Sunday.

Sachin Pilot didn’t rule out the possibility that the current cabinet may see some changes and new faces may be brought in.

The 13 cabinet ministers including BD Kalla, Shanti Dhariwal, Parsadi lal, Ramesh Meena, Pratap Singh Khachariawas, Vishwendra Singh, Raghu Sharma, Lal Chand Kataria, Pramod Jain Bhaya, Harish Choudhary, Master Bhanwarlal Meghwal, Udailal Aanjana, Saleh Mohammed and 10 state ministers including Govind Singh Dotasara, Mamta Bhupesh, Arjun Bamania, Bhanwar Singh Bhati, Sukhram Vishnoi, Ashok Chandana, Teekaram Juli, Bhajanlal Jatav, Rajendra Yadav and Subhash Garg had recently taken oath.

The names of ministers and state ministers to be included in the cabinet of the Rajasthan government were finalized on Sunday. Congress national president Rahul Gandhi gave nod to 23 names after holding discussions with chief minister Ashok Gehlot and Sachin Pilot. The swear-in ceremony was held at Raj Bhawan on Monday.
