Port Blair-based businessman murdered; nephew among 4 arrested

Jaipur: A 50-year-old businessman belonging to Port Blair in Andaman and Nicobar Islands was murdered in Jaipur. The victim’s nephew and his friend were arrested for the crime, while two others are still at large. The four were burying the body in the ground in Bhankrota when some local residents spotted them. The locals caught two of them and handed them over to the police. Two others escaped from the spot.

The victim was identified as Shashi Agarwal. According to the preliminary investigation, Shashi had come to visit his nephew Raj Agarwal. After a liquor party in a house in Mansa Nagar on Sirasi Road on Tuesday night, Raj murdered his uncle by hitting him on his head with an iron rod. He left the body in the house throughout the night.

On Wednesday morning, Raj and his three friends, identified as Prakash, Lucky and Bauni rented a car through an online app and put the body in its trunk. They then roamed in the city till 6 pm. They reached Anand Vihar Residential Scheme in the Naiwala area of Bhankrota and dig up a hole in the ground and were burying him when some local residents spotted them. They caught Raj and Prakash, but Lucky and Bauni escaped from the spot.

Senior police officers rushed to the spot and took the accused men into custody. Further investigation is going on.
