Poornima University, Jaipur wins gold in AIU American Football Championship

JAIPUR: Poornima University’s American football team has achieved a remarkable double victory by earning both a gold and a bronze medal in the All India Inter University (AIU) American Football Championship 2022-23.
Hosted by Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh State University at District Stadium, Aligarh at District Stadium, Soron, Kasganj, the championship featured 36 entries from across the country in the flag category and eight teams in the tackle category.
In the flag category, Poornima University’s team won the gold medal with a decisive 12-0 victory over MLSU, Udaipur, with Arun and Shivam scoring one touchdown each.
In the tackle category, the team secured the bronze medal by finishing in third place. After returning to Jaipur following this success, the team was warmly welcomed at Poornima University.
Rahul Singhi, Co-Founder, and Dr. Suresh Chandra Padhy, President of the University, congratulated the team on their accomplishments, calling it a proud moment not only for the University but also for the state of Rajasthan.
Associate Dean of Sports, Ashok Kumar Poonia, praised the students for their hard work and preparation, which resulted in their impressive victory.
