Poornima University Jaipur organizes conference on developments in AI.

JAIPUR: The Faculty of Computer Science & Engineering at Poornima University (PU), Jaipur, hosted a two-day International Conference on “Recent Advancements in Artificial Intelligence (ICRAAI-2023)”.

This event was organized in collaboration with SAS India and the Centre of Excellence in Machine Learning Applications for Society at PU.

The inaugural session was graced by several guests: Dr. Arun Patil, Vice-President of Global Engagement at the Victorian Institute of Technology, Melbourne, Australia (Chief Guest); Dr. Jagdish Chand Bansal, Associate Professor at South Asian University, New Delhi; Dr. Richi Nayak, Professor at the Queensland University of Technology, Australia; Dr. Namita Mittal, Head of the Department of Computer Science & Engineering at MNIT, Jaipur; and Dr. Manoj Kumar, Research Head at the University of Wollongong in Dubai, UAE (Guests of Honor).

In the opening address, Chief Guest Dr. Arun Patil shared insights into the complexities of implementing AI-based solutions, addressing ethical considerations, data privacy concerns, and the need for robust regulatory frameworks.

Dr. Suresh Chandra Padhy, President of PU, engaged the audience in a thought-provoking discussion on AI’s pervasive influence in our daily lives.

Dr. Manoj Gupta, Pro-President of PU, emphasized the critical role of Artificial Intelligence in engineering education and explored various futuristic approaches within the AI domain.

Dr. Ajay Khunteta announced that all presented papers would be published in the Springer book series “Innovations in Sustainable Technologies and Computing.”

Dr. Jagdish Chand Bansal discussed the opportunities and future challenges in AI. Dr. Namita Mittal captivated the audience with her keynote speech on AI applications, providing real-world examples from healthcare to finance.

Dr. Richi Nayak compared traditional and generative AI, offering an insightful analysis. Dr. Manoj Kumar explored the intersection of AI and security, bringing a critical perspective to the discussion. Finally, Dr. Chandni Kirpalani, Registrar at PU, concluded the event with a vote of thanks.
