A two-day international conference on 'Sustainable Computing and Intelligent Systems (ICSCIS-2025)' was organized by the Research and Development Cell of Poornima University (PU), Jaipur
Jaipur: Aiming to advance the conversation around sustainable innovation, Poornima University hosted a two-day international conference on ‘Sustainable Computing and Intelligent Systems (ICSCIS-2025)’ that concluded on Mar 23. Organized by the university’s Research and Development Cell, the conference drew participation from researchers across eight countries, with 235 selected papers presented from a total of 952 submissions. The event was supported by the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB).
Ashish Modi, Director of Secondary Education, Govt of Rajasthan, inaugurated the conference as the chief guest. Emphasizing the importance of sustainable computing, Modi spoke about how technology can pave the way for a more environmentally responsible future. He highlighted the role of innovation in addressing long-term sustainability challenges.
Speaking at the event, Rahul Singhi, Co-Founder of Poornima University, reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to research-driven growth and sustainable development. “Poornima University Campus will become net-zero by the end of 2026,” he announced, underlining the university’s ongoing efforts in environmental responsibility.
The inaugural address was delivered by Dr. Suresh Chandra Padhy, President of Poornima University. The event also saw the presence of Dr. Jaivir Tyagi, former Director of the National Institute of Hydrology (NIH), Roorkee, and Dr. Ashutosh Pant, President of the Amateur Soft Hockey Federation of India, as guests of honor.
Conference Chair Dr. Udit Mamodiya shared that the event received a total of 952 research paper submissions, out of which 235 were shortlisted for presentation over the two days. He said participants came from eight countries and 15 different states across India, showcasing the diversity and global interest in sustainable computing.
Dr. Devendra Somwanshi, Registrar of Poornima University, praised the conference theme, calling it timely and relevant in the context of current global challenges. Keynote speakers included Dr. Ankit R. Patel from the University of Minho, Portugal, and Dr. Maja Sarveska, Dean of the European University, Skopje. Both shared insights on the latest advances in sustainable technology and their real-world applications.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Dr. Basudha and Dr. Deepen Banoria, the convener and co-convener of the conference, respectively. The sessions—both inaugural and valedictory—were coordinated by Dr. Prerna Srivastava and Dr. Ritu Raj Chaudhary.
