Jaipur: Innovation took center stage at the Poornima Institute of Engineering and Technology (PIET) as it hosted the 36-hour grand finale of the AICTE Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2025 — one of India’s largest platforms for young innovators to solve real-world challenges.
A total of 210 students from 29 teams across 13 states participated in the software edition’s national finale, developing creative solutions to six problem statements posed by the Government of Rajasthan. This marks the second consecutive year that PIET has been designated as a nodal center for the Ministry of Education and AICTE’s flagship innovation program.
The valedictory ceremony was graced by Raj Kumar Verma, Additional Director, Software Technology Parks of India, as the chief guest, and Paresh Gupta, TEDx speaker and Founder of GCEC, as the guest of honor. They were joined by Dr. Elangovan Kariappan and Sandeep Aggarwal, AICTE Nodal Center In-charge, to felicitate the winning teams.
Among the top performers were Team VignanaSarathi, Robust Solutions, and Team 100X, who secured the winning titles, while Team TLE_Smashers, StackNova_abesec, Team Garuda, and Return 0_af98a were declared joint runners-up. The winners collectively received ₹9 lakh in prize money for their groundbreaking ideas.
Over the intense 36-hour event, participants showcased software innovations in areas such as smart education, smart automation, and clean & green technology. Their solutions were evaluated for originality, practicality, and technical execution by a 22-member jury, comprising 12 senior government officials and 10 industry experts. Representatives from AICTE and the Directorate of Technical Education were also in attendance.
Dr. Dinesh Goyal, Director of PIET, expressed pride in the institution’s role as a hub for innovation and problem-solving. “We provided the best possible environment — from high-speed internet and modern infrastructure to expert mentoring and comfortable workspaces — so that every participant could think freely and build fearlessly,” he said.
Dr. Ajay Maurya, Coordinator of SIH 2025 at PIET, concluded the event with a vote of thanks, commending the students’ resilience and teamwork.
