Group hosted a Faculty Research Engagement Program
Jaipur: The Poornima Group has taken a significant step toward strengthening its academic and research foundation by hosting a Faculty Research Engagement Program, aimed at reviewing ongoing research work and charting a clear roadmap for the future across its campuses.
The program brought together academic leadership and faculty members to assess current research initiatives, evaluate outcomes, and align future efforts with national priorities and global academic standards. The emphasis throughout the day was on building a structured, outcome-oriented, and socially relevant research culture.
The event was held in the presence of Shashikant Singhi, Chairperson, Poornima Group, and Rahul Singhi, Director, Poornima Group, who underlined the importance of sustained institutional support for research and innovation. Addressing the faculty, Rahul Singhi shared insights from his recent visit to Harvard Business School, USA, highlighting global best practices in academic leadership, interdisciplinary research, and innovation-driven ecosystems. He encouraged faculty members to pursue research that is impactful, collaborative, and globally relevant.
A detailed presentation was delivered by Dr. Udit Mamodiya, Associate Dean (Research), who outlined the group’s research achievements for the academic year 2024–25 and presented the research vision and mission for 2025–26 under the university’s R&D Cell. His presentation highlighted priority research areas, institutional targets, and strategic goals for the coming year.
A major focus of the program was the review of POORNIMA-SPRINT (Seed Policy for Research Initiatives), a faculty-focused initiative launched to encourage early-stage and applied research. Under the first edition (2024–25), the policy supported 14 minor research projects with a total funding of Rs 52.03 lakh. Of these, 10 projects were successfully completed, resulting in the creation of research assets worth nearly Rs 25 lakh.
These projects spanned a wide range of fields, including sustainability, healthcare automation, renewable energy, waste management, engineering, design, food sciences, and cultural studies. More than 35 faculty members benefited from the initiative, and their contributions were formally recognized during the program.
The program also highlighted the expansion of the initiative under the second edition of POORNIMA-SPRINT (2025–26). Currently, 29 research projects are being supported with a total sanctioned funding of Rs 1.01 crore, directly benefiting 65 faculty researchers. This expansion marks a significant boost to interdisciplinary and application-oriented research within the Poornima ecosystem. Participating faculty members were issued formal letters of recognition and research engagement, reinforcing the institution’s long-term commitment to academic research.
Speaking on the occasion, Shashikant Singhi reaffirmed the Poornima Group’s focus on building a strong, research-driven academic environment. He appreciated the efforts of the R&D Cell and encouraged faculty members to continue contributing research that delivers measurable academic and social impact.
Another key highlight of the program was the induction of new research faculty across Poornima University, Poornima College of Engineering (PCE), and Poornima Institute of Engineering & Technology (PIET). The newly inducted faculty members were formally introduced, signaling the institution’s intent to build a dedicated, performance-oriented research cadre.
