Poornima College hosts RTU’s inter collegiate sports tournament

JAIPUR: Rajasthan Technical University’s (RTU) Inter-Collegiate Sports Tournament 2023-24 was a grand success, with Poornima College of Engineering (PCE) hosting the three-day event. The tournament saw participation from various colleges, with the host team delivering an impressive performance and winning trophies in two categories.
In the Kabaddi Girls’ final, PCE emerged victorious, defeating GIT by a close margin of 55-52. The semi-finals saw PCE defeat PIET with a significant lead of 67-13, while GIT advanced to the finals through a bye. The American Football (Boys) final was a one-sided match, with the host team dominating the game and winning 18-0 against GIT.
The Kabaddi (Boys) final saw a thrilling competition between SKIT and PCE, with SKIT emerging victorious with a score of 38-29. PCE had earlier defeated MLV Textile and Engineering College, Bhilwara in the semi-finals by 47-17, while SKIT defeated PIET by 51-22 in the second semi-final.
Apart from these matches, selection trial matches of Wrestling Freestyle, Judo, and Squash were also organized to form the West Zone team for the Inter-University Tournament. All matches were played according to AIU rules, ensuring a fair and exciting competition.
A Poornima College official said that RTU’s Inter-Collegiate Sports Tournament at Poornima College of Engineering provided a platform for young athletes to showcase their skills and compete with the best in the region. The tournament was a testament to the spirit of sportsmanship and the commitment to promoting sports excellence among the youth, he added.
