Police constable murders wife, then commits suicide in Udaipur

Jaipur: A police constable shot to death his wife and then committed suicide by shooting himself at his police quarters of RAC battalion in Udaipur on Sunday. Udaipur city’s Paratap Nagar police is investigating the case.
The constable, Manjeet Singh Jat, was deputed in RAC. Manjeet Singh was a resident of Jhajhar district in Haryana.
Panic gripped the area when neighbors heard gunshots. They rushed to Manjeet Singh’s house and found him and his wife in a pool of blood. Both had died by the time they were rushed to hospital. A team from Pratap Nagar police station rushed to the spot and recovered the service revolver of Manjeet Singh.
During preliminary investigation, it has come up that Manjeet first shot his wife and then turned the weapon on himself. There were reports that the couple was not at good terms and used to quarrel with each-other over domestic issues.
The police have put the body in the mortuary of a hospital for a postmortem examination. Further investigation is going on.
