PM Narendra Modi expresses grief over Bharatpur tragedy, announces ex-gratia

Jaipur: Prime minister office (PMO) expressed grief over Bharatpur marriage hall incident that claimed lives of 25 people and left 28 others seriously injured.
PMO on behalf of prime minister Narendra Modi tweeted, “The incident in Bharatpur has pained me beyond words. My thoughts are with the families of the deceased. I hope the injured recover soon: PM”.

PMO also announced an ex gratia of Rs 2 lakh from Prime Minister National Relief Fund (PMNRF) for the next of kin of those killed in the tragedy.

PMO announced Rs 50,000 for those seriously injured in the mishap.

The incident was reported in Rajasthan’s Bharatpur town around 10 pm on Wednesday.
Nearly 800 people were taking part in a wedding function when a portion of Annapurna marriage hall collapsed due to rain and storm.

Many people were buried alive in the incident.
Many victims were from Jaipur taking part as guests in the wedding. The groom belonged to Jaipur.
