PM Modi to be in Jodhpur on eve of surgical strike’s second anniversary

Jaipur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the ‘Unified Commander Conference’ at the Jodhpur air force station on the eve of the second anniversary of 2016 surgical strike against terror pods in Pakistani territory by Indian forces.

In the conference, anti-terrorism operation in Kashmir, dealing with China on International border issues and measures to control China’s intervention in the Indian Ocean are some of the issues that will be discussed during the conference.
Defense minister Nirmala Sitaraman, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Indian Army Chief Bipin Rawat, Air Chief Marshal BS Dhanoa, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Sunil Lanba, Senior defence commanders and several other officials will be there in the opening ceremony of the conference on September 27.
The conference is being organized to give out a message about India’s army powers.
Unified commander conferences used to be in Delhi only until 2015. After coming to power, PM Modi decided to conduct this meeting at different army bases across the country.
