Police teams searching vehicles in Jaipur after escape of Vikram Gujjar alias Papla from Behror police station.

Jaipur: The escape of hardcore criminal Vikram Singh Gujjar alias Papla from prison has exposed lacuna on part of the police officials in Behror area. After facing embarrassment, the police headquarters has suspended four policemen including SHO of Behror police station Sugan Singh for negligence, sent to line the entire police station staff consisting of 69 policemen and expelled two head constables from service. The head constables were suspended on suspicion that they knowingly or unknowingly helped Papla escape.

Those who were suspended also include then circle officer Janesh Singh Tanwar who was allegedly using the SUV of an aide of Vikram Singh Gujjar and known criminal, identified as Vinod Swami. Those sent to police lines include current CO Ramji Lal.

Even four days after the escape, the Rajasthan special operations group (SOG) has not been able to find Vikram Singh and most of his aides who were involved in opening firing inside the police station and storming out with the hardcore criminal.

The SOG teams are carrying out raids at several places in Alwar and Haryana. Many people have been rounded up on suspicion of giving shelter to Vikram Gujjar and his aides after the escape. Four people were rounded up from Tapukada area.

A group of about 15 criminals stormed into Behror police station in three vehicles around 8.30 am on Friday. They were armed with AK-47 guns. They started firing inside the police station indiscriminately. There were 11 policemen including SHO Sugan Singh in the police station at that time. Sugan Singh fired at the criminals, but his gun got jammed. The criminals left with Papla.
