Papla Gujjar’s close aide arrested; Cash reward announced on 7 more criminals

Jaipur: Rajasthan special operations group (SOG) on Sunday arrested one Dikshant Gujjar – a close aide of Papla alias Vikram Singh Gujjar who escaped from Behror police estation earlier this month. Diskhant was carrying a cash reward of Rs 50,000 and is suspected to be involved in opening fire in the police station to help Papla escape. The cash reward of Rs 50,000 has been announced for seven more members of the gang.

Dikshant is a resident of Mahendragarh district in Haryana. The 23-year-old criminal was among about a dozen people who opened firing indiscriminately inside Behror police station and fled away with Papla. The SOG has arrested 13 criminals in the matter, but Papla is still at large. Sources said that he is being searched by armed teams of SOG and Haryana police’s STF.

The reward was announced for any information leading to the arrest of Rajveer, Ballu alias Balwan, Rahul, Prashant, Ashok Gujjar and Bhupa Singh. Ashok is a resident of Alwar district, while Bhupa Singh belongs to Jhunjhunu. The other criminals are residents of Haryana.

“The cash reward has been announced on the heads of 14 criminals including Papla. We have annocued a cash reward of Rs 1 lakh for information leading to the arrest of Papla,” said a senior police officer.

A group of about 15 criminals stormed into Behror police station in three vehicles around 8.30 am on September 6.  They were armed with AK-47 guns. They started firing inside the police station indiscriminately. There were 11 policemen including SHO Sugan Singh in the police station at that time. Sugan Singh fired at the criminals, but his gun got jammed. The criminals left with Papla.
