Paper leak: RU postpones BSC 1st year Zoology and Maths exams; new dates to be announced soon

As per the administration, the officials of a college center, Mother Teresa College located at Kishangarh – Renwal, opened the seal of the exam paper’s envelope at 7 am by mistake.

Jaipur: Rajasthan University (RU) postponed Zoology and Maths papers of Bachelors of Science (BSc) first year scheduled on Tuesday just before four hours of the exam.

The exam was supposed to be conducted from 11 am to 2 pm on Tuesday at all the exam centers of the university in the state.

As per the administration, the officials of a college center, Mother Teresa College located at Kishangarh – Renwal, opened the seal of the exam paper’s envelope at 7 am by mistake.

As soon as the RU officials received the information, they directed all the exam centers to cancel the exam with immediate effect.

The new dates of the same exams will be announced soon, added officials.

The administration of Mother Teresa College confessed their mistake to the university officials instantly and said that the envelope was opened by mistake under the impression that it contained the papers for the morning shift exam scheduled at 7 am.

The university administration called a meeting with examination planning and monitoring committee after postponing the exam on Tuesday with immediate effect.

The committee decided to take action against the center as per the rules.

The decision to impose restrictions on the college center was taken and a penalty of university’s loss up to Rs 5 lakh will be imposed on the Mother Teresa College.

Another meeting of the committee will be conducted on Wednesday in which the officials will decide on further action against the center.

The students who reached to appear for the exams faced inconvenience due to the step.
