Jaipur: After arresting nine people including Rajasthan University professors and college lecturers on Monday, the Rajasthan police’s special operations group (SOG) will likely make some more shocking revelations on Tuesday.

The cops have detained at least three employees of RU’s secrecy department which looks after security and secrecy of examination papers and has at least six more professors and several students under its watch. Sources didn’t rule out the possibility of more arrests on Tuesday after interrogation with nine accused arrested previously. The agency will produce the accused in a court and try to seek remand for further interrogation.

The SOG had on Monday detained Nandlal Saini, Ashok Agarwal and Mahesh Gupta, apart from eight people. The three men are employees in the RU’s secrecy branch. This branch is responsible for the security of examination papers and if its employees were involved, it’s anybody’s guess how many papers were leaked.

Sources said that Soni had already been arrested, while interrogation with other employees and RU professors is still going on.

“The scope of investigation is huge. We definitely can’t say that we have reached the bottom of the gang. The system is faulty to such an extent that paper leaks happened at several levels,” said a senior SOG officer.

The SOG on Monday arrested nine people including Rajasthan University’s geography department head (HoD) JP Jat, Commerce College professor Govind Pareek,   Retired RU professor BL Gupta,    Government College Khajuvala professor NS Modi, Modi’s son Nipun Modi, SSG Pareek Girls College Chomu’s Shambhudayal Jhalani, Kalicharan Sharma from Agrsen College Bhadara and one Sharad who is an employee of Ramesh Book Depot.

Arrests were made in connection with the four FIRs registered related to the leaks of MCom (Final) paper, BA final geography first paper, BA final geography second paper and MA (previous) SBST paper second paper. The first paper was conducted by the Bikaner University, while the remaining three were conducted by Rajasthan University. Four different cases had been registered in this regard.
