PoW has already departed from Jaipur for Delhi, where the luxurious heritage journey for tourists will start. For the first time, tourists will be able to experience royal marriages and big corporate meetings. For this two new POW sections – Marriage on Wheels and Conference on Wheels – have been introduced.

More than 60% seats were booked, so PoW will remain almost half vacant. Around 30 passengers will travel in the first round of POW.

Palace on Wheels generally takes tourists on a tour of Rajasthan and some other tourist destinations in October. The Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation (RTDC) Department, however, decided to run POW in September keeping in view its popularity and increasing demand among tourists.

The journey will start from Delhi. The tourists will first visit Jaipur followed by Sawai Madhopur, Chittorgarh, Udaipur, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Bharatpur and Agra. There will be 14 special tours starting from September 26.

Kumbhalgarh, Pushkar and Sambhar have been included in the tours. The other luxury trains of the country like Maharaja, Deccan Odyssey, Golden Chariot and HPOW does not run from October to March. Palace on wheels is the only luxury train which completes its 34 rounds between September and April.
