One more RU professor arrested in paper leak case

Jaipur: Special operations group (SOG) on Wednesday arrested one more Rajasthan University (Rajasthan University) professor for allegedly leaking examination papers. The accused, Maheshchand Gupta, is an associate professor with Rajasthan University’s commerce department. A total of 14 people have been arrested since SOG exposed the paper leak scam on Monday.

ADG, SOG Umesh Mishra told The PinkCity Post that Gupta was involved in leaking MCom (previous) ABST question paper. The exam was conducted on April 13.

Maheshchand had set the paper. “Nandlal Saini, an employee of RU’s secrecy branch who has already been arrested by the SOG, informed Ashok Agarwal about the fact that Maheshchand had set the paper,” said ADG Mishra. Agawarl also works in the secrecy branch.

Agarwal contacted Maheshchand a day prior to the exam and noted down all the questions.

The SOG had already arrested 13 people who are in police custody. More than 10 people are on the run.

Those arrested include Rajasthan University’s geography department head (HoD) JP Jat, Commerce College professor Govind Pareek,   Retired RU professor BL Gupta,    Government College Khajuvala professor NS Modi, Modi’s son Nipun Modi, SSG Pareek Girls College Chomu’s Shambhudayal Jhalani, Kalicharan Sharma from Agrsen College Bhadara and one Sharad who is an employee of Ramesh Book Depot.
