Jaipur: The Rajasthan anti-corruption bureau (ACB) on Thursday arrested deputy superintendent of police (DSP) of Lakheri circle in Bundi district for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 24000. DSP Omprakash Chandolia was taking monthly protection amount from a liquor contractor, senior police officers said. Chandolia is among several other police officers who are under ACB scanner. Some of the police officers are missing to evade arrest.

The ACB trap happened at the government residence of the DSP. ACB officials said that the DSP demanded Rs 10000 per month as commission from liquor contractor, identified as Jogendra Singh.

After verifying the complaint, the ACB laid a trap and caught Chandolia taking Rs 24,000 from Jogendra, the officials said. “Jogendra Singh had an amount of Rs 30,000 due. He had paid Rs 6000 earlier, while we trapped Chandolia when he was paying the remaining amount of Rs 24,000 on Thursday,” said an ACB officer.

Searches were carried out at his residence situated in Tonk Phatak area of Jaipur and other places belonging to him in Bundi.

At his government residence, the ACB found 100 bottles of expensive IMFL brands worth about Rs 1 lakh.  His house in Tonk Phatak is situated in Ambedkar Colony. ACB officials said that the documents suggesting ownership of four shops in Jaipur and four in Phagi were recovered from the house. Some bank diaries were also seized.
