Jaipur: An Indian national tested positive for Coronavirus in Jaipur. The 85-year-old man is the third case of Coronavirus in the city. Earlier, two Italian nationals – a couple – tested positive for the highly contagious virus. The man has been admitted to SMS Hospital. He had arrived in Jaipur from Dubai. The authorities are trying to trace other people who travelled with the man. The family members are also being screened.

“The man is being kept in the isolation ward of SMS Hospital. He was screened on suspicion that he was infected with the virus. The test results confirmed the suspicion. The man is under observation of a team of doctors,” said an official.

Nearly 321 people have been screened for the virus at SMS Hospital. Only three were tested positive. While 314 tested negative, the hospital administration is awaiting the report for the remaining four.

The medical and health department in Rajasthan recently issued guidelines to prevent spread of Coronavirus. The guidelines instruct traffic cops not to use breath analysers for detecting drunken driving cases. All foreign nationals arriving in Jaipur will be screened and if symptoms of Coronavirus were found, they will be quarantined. The department has also instructed all the government and private offices and institutions not to use biometric attendance system.
