NRI woman arrested for fraud in the name of admission in SMS School

Jaipur: Banipark police on Thursday arrested a 56-year-old woman for allegedly defrauding a Banipark-based man of Rs 6 lakh in the name of his grandson’s admission in SMS School.
The police produced the woman in a court where she and the complainant reached a compromise. The accused woman agreed to pay Rs 6 lakh back following which she was released on bail.
According to the police, the accused woman, identified as Bhawna, is a resident of Patan near Neem Ka Thana in Sikar district. She reportedly has USA citizenship.
In May, one Dhirendra Singh, a resident of Banipark, registered a complaint with police that Bhawna took Rs 6 lakh from him in the name of securing admission of his grandson in SMS School.
Singh alleged that the woman didn’t return the money even when she could not secure admission.
An FIR had been registered on the victim’s complaint. The woman was arrested and produced in a court that released her on bail when she paid the money back.
