Jaipur: The Rajasthan education department said that the government teachers can now apply for transfers and posting online. State education minister Govind Singh Dotasara made this announcement while unveiling Integrated Shala Darpan Portal. The teachers who meet certain criteria specified in new guidelines – soon to be released by the government – can submit their transfer application through this portal.

The minister said that there is currently no proper system in place to streamline the transfer and posting process. The departments receive thousands of applications from teachers every time transfers and posting process begins in the state. It becomes very difficult to deal with so many applications and determine who should really be given a priority.

“The portal will streamline the entire process. The government will soon release the guidelines which the teachers applying for transfers have to meet. The application from only eligible teachers will be considered,” said the minister.

He said that all the teachers in Rajasthan will be convened about these guidelines. Teachers from specific categories can apply for transfer during a specified period of time.

The practice of ‘desire’ is prevalent in Rajasthan. The ‘desires’ are recommendations of transfers from the local MLAs.

The minister added that when the transfer and posting process will begin will be decided by chief minister Ashok Gehlot.

“The important thing is that the system will make the entire process easier and hassle-free for the department as well as teachers”.
