Now take a print-out of FIRs in Rajasthan online

As per the initiative of State Crime Records Bureau of Rajasthan, people will not only be able to check the FIR online on the official website of Rajasthan police portal, but also get a print-out.

Jaipur: People will can now not only check the status of their FIRs online, but also get a print-out of the copy. The police department has started this online service recently. All the FIRs lodged in the police station expect POCSO Act, rape or crime related to women will be available online and people will be able to get a print out just after 24 hours of FIR being lodged with the police station.

According to SP State Crime Record Bureau Pankaj Choudhary, people earlier to run from pillar to post in order to register a FIR and then get its copy. But, now people will not have to suffer the ordeal. As per the initiative of State Crime Records Bureau of Rajasthan, people will not only be able to check the FIR online on the official website of Rajasthan police portal, but also get a print-out.

According to the Supreme Court’s directive and rules, the FIR is to be provided free of cost within 24 hours of one being registered.

However people have to face several problems when they try to get the copy of the FIR on time.

The new system will bring about transparency in the functioning of the police department.

The following is the process to check FIR online.

  • Go to the official website of Rajasthan police portal www.police.rajasthan.gov.in
  • In the public information section, click on the CCTNS Citizen Portal.
  • An option of ‘View FIR\others’ will open.
  • After clicking on the option, a webpage www.police.rajasthan.gov.in/citizen will open.
  • After logging in, the inquisitor will be able to see his\her FIR lodged in any police station of the state.
  • For further use, the inquisitor can print the FIR too
