Temples in Rajasthan

Jaipur: Devotees in Rajasthan can now make donations online for temples. The devasthan department has started this facility for temple associated with the department. The devotees can make donations from any part of the world.  The officials said that it would boost revenue which will be used for restoration and upkeep of the temples some of which are centuries old.

According to the officials, around fifty-nine thousand temples are associated with the devasthan department in Rajasthan. Some of these temples are located in other states bordering Rajasthan. Of them, a total of 390 temples are completely under government assistance.

Initially, the department began the online donation services for 24 major temples. These temples are among the most famous temples of Rajasthan where a large number of devotees come to seek blessings.

The online donation segment has three sections as per the nature of the donation.

•    If anyone wants to donate in the name of any particular temple out of 24 listed ones.

•    If anyone wants to donate in the name of any particular God\Goddess out of 34 listed ones.

•    If anyone wants to donate for any particular reason or the purpose.

In a different section on the website, a list of devotees who donated online and the purpose of their donation on the Devasthan’s website is also available.

The online donation services to the temples started last year in September. Though, it did not get any publicity due to which the website got only 66 online donations. The people donated around Rs 3 lakh collectively ranging from Rs 1 to thousands of rupees.
