Jaipur: The police’s failure to arrest criminals involved in the murder of a mobile showroom and department store owner in Jodhpur has further emboldened organized gangs.
A jeweller who runs a jewellery shop in Jodhpur’s Sardarpura area received an internet call from a criminal who threated to kill him if he didn’t pay Rs 50 lakh within two days. An FIR has been registered with Sadar Bajaj police station in this regard.
The victim, Vikas Soni is the owner of Rameshchandra Premraj Soni Jewellers in Hathiram Ka Oda.
He was at his shop on Saturday afternoon when he received a WhatsApp call. The caller identified himself as Harendra alias Heera Jat and asked Soni to arrange for Rs 50 lakh within two days. He threated that if the protection money was not paid, he wo0uld be murdered.
The caller even referred to the murder of Vasudev Israni nearly 20 days ago. The caller threatened that Soni would meet the same fate if protection money was not paid.
Vasudev Israni was murdered in Jodhpur for not paying protection money to a gang of criminals. The incident has embarrassed the police as the same victim had been shot at three months ago. He had a narrow escape at that time.
Vasudev was the owner of Padamaraj Mobile Showroom and Departmental Store in a posh market, just 50 meter from Sardarpura police station, in Jodhpur. No arrests have been made in the case
