Jaipur: Rajasthan University could not find a place on the list of the Top-200 institutes/universities of the country in 2019.  RU was among the Top-150 universities of the country last year and ranked at number 79 in 2017.

The Ministry of Human Resource and Development (HRD) released the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) report on Monday on its official website and Rajasthan university was nowhere in the list of Top-200.

As per the release, only two universities of the state including Birla Institute of Technology & Science (BITS) in Pilani and Banasthali Vidyapith could make it to the list of Top 100 universities of the country.

BITS Pilani ranked at number 23 whereas Banasthali Vidyapith number 61.

Also, MNIT in Jaipur has been positioned in the Rank band of 101-150 and Rajasthan University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences in Bikaner has been put in the Rank band of 151-200.

According to the officials, the universities are ranked in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) conducted by the HRD ministry every year. Ranking is based on teaching, learning, resources, research, professional practice, graduation outcome, steps in women education, outreach, inclusivity and perception along with others.

The universities are ranked on the basis of these factors and their scores in different parameters, added officials.

The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) was accepted by the MHRD and launched by Minister for Human Resource development on 29th September 2015. This framework outlines a methodology to rank institutions across the country.
