Night tourism to resume at Amer Fort, Nahargarh and Albert Hall from tomorrow

Jaipur: The tourism industry has been hit the worst by Coronavirus in Jaipur. In an effort to support the struggling industry, the state archaeological department has decided to extended the visiting hours of some of the most prominent heritage places and monuments. From September 27 when the World Tourism Day will be celebrated, Amber Fort, Nahargarh and Albert Hall will remain open for tourists till 10 pm.

The heritage places had been shut down during the lockdown. They were reopened for tourists on June 1; however, restrictions were put in place on opening hours. The number of visitors has been steadily increasing since then, said an official.

The official added that to give boost to the tourism industry, the department has decided extend the visiting hours.

“Now the tourists can visit Amer Fort, Nahargarh Fort and Albert Hall till 10 pm every day. The entry fee had been slashed by half. The discount will continue to be offered till at least October,” said the officer.

The officer added that other monuments will continue to remain open from 7 pm to 9 pm every day, apart from the daytime opening hours.

“We are sanitizing tourism places on a regular basis and ensuring social distancing. The officials have been instructed to ensure compliance with COVID-19 guidelines strictly,” said the officer.
