Newlywed groom dies in tragic road accident near Jaitpura in Chomu

Jaipur: In a tragic mishap, a youth was killed while three others were injured on Wednesday when the car they were travelling in rammed into a gravel-laden truck on Jaipur-Sikar highway near Chomu, according to preliminary reports. The victim was taking his bride home for the first time after the marriage ceremony on Tuesday night.
The locals alleged that an RTO team had flagged down the truck during a checking. The car driver who was driving behind the truck had to apply the brakes suddenly. It caused the car to ram into the truck. The local residents gathered at the spot in large numbers and staged a protest, sources said. Senior police and administration officers rushed to the spot to placate them.
According to preliminary reports, the deceased man was Ajay Kumar Meena, a resident of Nayan village. He got married on Tuesday and was travelling to his village when the mishap occurred.
The collision was so intense that the car lost balance and over turned. It skidded to the service lane. Ajay died on the spot, while the bride sustained injuries. Two others were also injured.
There were reported that the locals blocked the road in protest of the accident that occurred on NH – 52.
The police said that an investigation has been launched to ascertain what caused the mishap. There was no official confirmation whether the allegation of the locals that the truck being stopped by the RTO team led to the accident.
