New transfer policy prepared; transfer of Grade 3 teachers soon

Jaipur: The wait for transfers in the education department may be over for thousands of teachers. The education department has prepared a new transfer policy for the teachers. The new policy might provide relief to teachers who have applied for their transfer with home districts.
Education Minister BD Kalla told media persons that the department has prepared a new transfer policy, which has been submitted to the government for approval. The government’s nod will pave the way for the transfer of 85,000 teachers in the state.
The government had sought online applications for transfer from teachers in August last year. As many as 85,000 teachers applied for the transfer to their home district. They also applied for transfer from TSP areas to non-TSP areas. The teachers have been waiting for the transfers for the past seven months.
The department has finally prepared a new transfer policy and sent it to chief secretary Usha Sharma. The chief secretary will examine the transfer policy and send it to Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. It can also come up for discussion in a cabinet meeting.
Lecturers, head masters and principals have already been transferred. The new transfer policy will provide relief to Grade 3 teachers. It is believed that the new policy might be implemented within 20-30 days.
The state has 1.88 lakh Grade 3 teachers. Of them, about 85,000 have applied for transfers.
