New parking rates for Jaipur airport: All you need to know

Jaipur: The Jaipur International Airport authorities have enforced new rates for parking vehicles at the airport that is frequented by over 15,000 passengers on a daily basis.

Many other major changes have also been introduced in the parking system. The authorities said that a penalty of Rs 500 will be imposed on vehicles that stay on the porch for more than three minutes. Earlier, a four-wheeler was given a maximum time of eight minutes to enter and exit the airport barriers. This system has been discontinued. Instead, there will be no restrictions with regard to the number of minutes. However, the vehicle that need to wait for a pick up or drop at the airport can park their vehicles in the parking.

The new Jaipur airport parking rates

Here are the parking rates for the cars:

  • The parking fee will be Rs 30 for up to 30 minutes.
  • Rs 85 will be charged as parking fee for parking a vehicle up to 2 hours.
  • Rs 95 for up to 3 hours
  • Rs 105 for up to 4 hours
  • Rs 115 for up to 5 hours
  • Rs 125 for up to 6 hours
  • Rs 135 for up to 7 hours
  • Rs 225 for up to 24 hours

Here are the parking rates for buses and tempos

  • Minimum parking fee will be Rs 40
  • Rs 100 for up to 2 hours and then the fee to be increased by Rs 10 every hour

The parking fee for two wheelers such as bikes will be from Rs 10 to Rs 60.

“Earlier the vehicles were allowed to enter and exit the airport within 8 minutes. If a vehicle took more than eight minutes, a parking fee of Rs 85 was imposed. We have abolished this system. The entry and exit barriers are being removed. No parking slip will be required to enter the airport,” said a senior airport official.

The frequent travellers however said that the penalty of Rs 500 for more than 3 minutes in the airport porch was too much.

“This will lead to arguments among drivers in the porch. Picks and drops usually take up to 5 minutes. The passengers will be harassed by airport employees,” said Sachin Sharma, a frequent traveller.
