JAIPUR: In an effort to tackle the growing concerns of land fraud and repeated sale of plots, authorities in Jaipur are gearing up to develop a software solution coupled with advanced technology.
This move aims to curb the practice of land grabbers exploiting the system and the backdating of leases by housing cooperatives.
Principal Home Secretary Anand Kumar issued directives to combat land-related crimes during a meeting of the Monitoring Committee, presided over by himself, on Friday.
The registration department has been instructed to develop software and technology that will prevent individuals from registering the same plot multiple times.
Moreover, the registrar of cooperatives has been directed to take appropriate action against housing cooperative societies engaging in backdating practices.
In an effort to gather intelligence on land-related fraud cases, the police department was requested to provide relevant information.
