New Jaipur Metro timing to increase frequency of trains

Jaipur: Jaipur Metro will now run at an interval of every 10 minutes. The interval between two Jaipur Metro trains was earlier 15 minutes. It will not only increase the rounds of Jaipur Metro between Chandpole and Mansarovar, but reduce the waiting time for trains at all the metro stations in the city. The new Jaipur Metro train timing will come into effect from June 22, according to officials.

“The Jaipur Metro train will run at the interval of every 15 minutes between 6.25 am and 8 am every day. The waiting period will be reduced to 10 minutes from 8 am to 9.20 am every day. Jaipur Metro trains will now do 170 rounds between Mansarovar and Chandpole. Earlier the number of rounds was 134,” said a Jaipur Metro official.

The officer said that it will benefit passengers as the waiting period will be reduced. “The passengers will be able to catch a Metro within minutes of arriving at the station,” said the officer.

In order to increase the revenue, the Jaipur Metro trains will be made available for shootings of documentaries and movies.

“Movie shoots can take place on the Jaipur Metro station in the daytime, but if someone wants to shoot inside a train then it can be done only in the nighttime,” said the officer.

More than 2.25 people have travelled in Jaipur Metro in the past three years. However, the Jaipur Metro administration is still struggling to make a profitable venture. To boost the revenue, the administration is now allowing advertisements on Jaipur Metro pillars and inside the station premises. Soon vendors selling food and other items will also be allowed.
