Jaipur: Kishangarh is known for its marble trade, but the town will now be popular among aspiring pilots also. A new flying training academy will open here under the flying training organization policy of the Airport Authority of India. AAI has selected Kishangarh as one of the 10 airports where flight training will be imparted to aspiring pilots.
The candidates who have passed senior secondary education in the physics, maths and chemistry streams will be eligible to apply for aviation training here. A hostel will also be constructed on the premises so that the successful candidates can get accommodation facility.
The announcement will particularly help candidates from Rajasthan as there was no facility for flight training in the state so far. The candidates currently have to go to either Delhi and Mumbai or enrol in a foreign institution aboard. Flight training at Kishangarh will be cheaper also. The expense of getting a certificate from abroad costs students anywhere between Rs 35 lakh to 40 lakh, but it would be between Rs 25 lakh to Rs 27 lakh at the Kishangarh flight training academy.
The training will be for a commercial pilot license (CPL). The mandatory 215 hours of flying training in different types of aircraft will be imparted to the student. The candidates would be able to get two others types of licenses – personal pilot license (PPL) and student pilot license (SPL) by completing flying training of 50 hours and 20 hours respectively.
Seven companies had participated in the tender for setting up the training academy at Kishangarh Airport. A Delhi-based company has won the bid. The training will begin soon.
