New bench of Rajasthan Information Commission in Jodhpur gets green signal from CM Gehlot

Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot approves proposal for the bench, including 12 new posts and financial provisions.

JAIPUR: A bench of the Rajasthan Information Commission will soon be established in Jodhpur to ensure the effective implementation of the Right to Information (RTI) Act.

Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has given his approval for the creation of the bench, along with 12 new posts and necessary financial provisions for the office’s operation.

The newly approved positions include one Information Commissioner, to be appointed according to the rules, as well as a Personal Assistant, Reader, Information Assistant, two Senior Assistants, three Junior Assistants, and three Class IV employees.

A budget of Rs 20 lakh has been sanctioned for the necessary resources and other requirements of the bench.

This development follows Chief Minister Gehlot’s announcement in the 2023-24 budget regarding the establishment of the bench, demonstrating the government’s commitment to upholding transparency and accountability through the effective implementation of the RTI Act.
