Narrow escape for BJP MP Kirodi Lal Meena as his cavalcade fired at in Karauli

While the caravan of Dr. Kirodi Lal Meena was returning after interacting with villagers around 12:30 pm on Tuesday, 4-5 miscreants drove parallel to their car and started to fire at them. No one was injured in the incident as the driver of Meena’s car managed to drive to safety.

Jaipur: Some unidentified men fired on the cavalcade of BJP Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Kirodi Lal Meena while he was returning to Karauli via Sapotara on Tuesday. Nearly five men in a car fired bullets at Meena’s vehicle and sped away from the spot. No one was injured; however, the incident put the district police on their toes.

The incident took place near Kushalgarh crossing in Sapotara police station area. After the firing incident, the BJP workers chased the miscreants, but they managed to escape.

According to police, Meena was traveling through local villages in Karauli region to distribute peele chawal (yellow rice) to people. These preparations are part of the exercise to invite people to attend BJP president Amit Shah’s upcoming rally. Meena with several BJP workers in the region had been busy preparing for the occasion for the past several days.

Police launched a search for the assailants. Check posts were put up and teams were formed to look for the assailants. A high alert was sounded in the region.

Police is in the search of the miscreants and further investigation is going on, said a police officer.

BJP National President Amit Shah will visit several places before the upcoming assembly elections.
