Narendra Modi supporters shout slogans in Congress roadshow in Jaipur, cops intervene

Jaipur: Tension prevailed in the Congress election rally taken out by the supporters of the party’s candidate from Jaipur Jyoti Khandelwal in the city on Saturday. Some BJP supporters joined the rally and started shouting slogans in support of the saffron party’s Prime Minister candidate Narendra Modi. This led to a confrontation between the BJP and Congress supporters. The cops had to intervene to maintain law and order. A heavy police force was deployed after the scuffle.

Jyoti Khandelwal who has been pitched against BJP candidate Ramcharan Bohara in Jaipur Lok Sabha constituency is taking out a roadshow in Jaipur. The voting for the fifth phase of Lok Sabha elections in Rajasthan is scheduled to take place on May 6. Several senior Congress leaders including Avinash Roy Khanna, Raghu Sharma and Mahesh Joshi are participating in the roadshow.

The roadshow was passing through Deenanath Ji Ki Gali in Chandpole when the some people started shouting slogans in support of Narendra Modi. It infuriated the Congress supporters, causing confrontation between them and the people shouting slogans. The people from both the sides manhandled each-other. The policemen intervened to prevent escalation of the tension.
