Narayan Das ji Maharaj of Triveni Dham passes away; Followers mourn saint’s death

Narayan Das ji Maharaj was awarded Padhma Shri earlier this year. It is said that Narayandas Maharaj became a monk at an age of six and become a disciple of a respected teacher. He started living at an ashram.

Jaipur: The most revered saint, Narayan Das ji Maharaj of Triveni Dham, passed away at a hospital on Saturday. Laksh of his followers across the country mourned his death. It is believed that he was 93 years old.

He was awarded Padma Shri earlier this year. It is said that Narayandas Maharaj became a monk at an age of six and become a disciple of a respected teacher. He started living at an ashram.

He founded Sankrit University and then handed it over to the Rajasthan government. His followers used to celebrate his birthday on saptami of Krishna Paksha according to Hindu calendar every year.

The rumours of his death last year had gone viral on social media channels. He helped in building many schools, colleges, hospitals and temples.

His body has been put on display at his ashram in front of Mangalnath Temple where hundreds of people have gathered.

Narayan Das ji Maharaj had never been in any controversies.

Many of his followers live in abroad. They came to him and requested him to visit countries they lived in, but he always turned down their request. He said that he would never go aboard and would take his last breath in his own country.

He had been undergoing treatment at a hospital for the past several days.
