Nahargarh Biological Park now attracts 3000 visitors daily on weekends

Nearly 1,000 people are visiting the park daily on weekdays. The number of daily visitors goes up to 3,000-4,000 on weekends.

Jaipur: Nahargarh Biological Park has become a favourite destination for wildlife lovers. According to park officials, nearly 3000 people are visiting the park on weekends. The park features over 190species of birds and animals.

Regional Forest Officer Gaurav said that nearly 1,000 people are visiting the park daily on weekdays. The number of daily visitors goes up to 3,000-4,000 on weekends. In January, 27,788 visitors visited the park despite the New Year holidays.

Compared to January, the number of visitors to the park has almost doubled in July which shows the park’s growing popularity as a wildlife destination in Jaipur.

From April 2020 to March 2021, about 1,56,249 people visited the park, which brought in total revenue of Rs 86.6 lakh. At the same time, 2,69,638 people visited the park from April 2021 to March 2022 with total revenue of Rs 1.36 crore.

Spread over 720 hectares, the park features many rare animals and birds including lion, golden tiger, leopard, wolf, jackal, hyena, reindeer, sambhar, chinkara, chital, deer, boar, porcupine, fox, wild cat, alligator, crocodile, bear, mongoose, hippopotamus, langur and emu.

The park authorities said that many new exciting activities are going to be introduced for wildlife lovers. One of the most anticipated activities is the tiger safari.

This tiger safari will be developed in Exotic Park near Nahargarh Biological Park. The length of the track in the safari will be 8 kilometres. JDA will spend around Rs 7.5 crore on its construction. Safari preparations will be done on about 30 square hectares in the hills of Nahargarh.
