Murder on video in Rajasthan: Shambhu Lal arrested.

Jaipur: A day after a shocking video showing a 50-year-old being hacked to death and then his body put on fire in Rajasthan’s Rajsamand town went viral on WhatsApp, the police on Thursday arrested the main accused involved in the heinous murder, highly placed sources said. Senior police officers are likely to make an official announcement about the arrest in a few hours.

There were reports that the accused, Shambhu Lal, shot another video in which he said that he would surrender before the police at a temple in the area. As the video surfaced, the police teams started looking for him in the area. When he was on his way to the temple, he was intercepted and arrested.

Shambhu Lal Raiger repeatedly attacked one Afrazul alias Bhuttu – a construction worker – with a shovel, brutally killing him. He then poured inflammable substance on the body and put it on fire. Someone recorded a video of the whole incident. Shambhu Lal even shot a video of himself while talking about Love Jihad and patriotism.

Video grab of man murder live

A video showing a man being brutally murdered went viral in Rajsamand.

“The main accused has been detained. Interrogation with him is going on. The formal announcement will be made soon,” said a source.

Shambhu Lal took Afrazul to an agriculture farm, just 700 meters from the Rajsamand district collector office. The farm belongs to the murder accused.

Shambhu Lal was caught on the video saying that he was taking revenge of misbehavior with his sister.

He allegedly took Afrazul to his agriculture farm on the pretext of hiring him for some construction work.

As soon as Afrazul reached the farm, Shambhu Lal attacked him with a shovel. The victim started pleading for his life. The accused then set the body on fire. The video shows a teenaged girl roaming around on the farm when the murder was in progress.

As the video went viral, a police team was rushed to the spot and found a body with more than 80 percent burns.

“An FIR against unidentified people has been registered. The video looks genuine, but we are verifying it. Prima-facie, it seems Shambhu Lal killed the victim over a personal rivalry,” said SP Rajsamand Manoj Kumar.
